Summary

Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another.

Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

My Thoughts
This has got to be one of my top favorite series of all time! I LOVE this book and finished it in one sitting. This book is filled with action packed and romance scenes. 

The main character, Calaena,was a bad ass assassin who fought for her freedom. I absolutely LOVED Caelana! She was charming, sarcastic, funny and also happened to be very girly, which I admired about her. Who says you have to be a bad ass and not like candy or dresses? As for the love interests, they both appealed to me. Prince Dorian isn't your typical prince, actually, he didn't  even want to be a prince. Prince Dorian was sweet, kind, and actually understood Calaena. Like other characters, he did have his flaws. He acted cowardly by not wanting to stand up to his corrupt father. Chaol Westfall, the Captain of the Guard, and Prince Dorian's best friend. Chaol is honorable and a hard worker. I really admired how he would sacrifice everything to protect his best friend, although that is his job. Nehemia was an admirable character, doing whatever it takes to help her country as a princess.
The writing of the book flowed perfectly. The plot of this book was actually what got me addicted to it. Although it was addicting to read, you could easily guess who the villains were by the foreshadowing.
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this to readers!!!

 My Thoughts

Of Poseidon is an enjoyable book for readers who like lighthearted humor and romance. . Although there were some parts where it had me get second-hand embarrassment, there were some dull moments in the beginning. It wasn't really exciting until the end of the book, where the puzzles actually clicked together and the author left us with a cliffhanger.

The main character, Emma, had personality changes within a couple a pages between each other. At first, she was sweet and nice, then goes to ill-tempered and stubborn, but I liked Emma as a main character. I really liked Galen's character. Galen is loyal, sweet, and caring. Although, he comes off a bit overprotective over Emma and Rayna (which is understandable). I loved their romance in the book!

Overall, this book was an okay mermaid story to me. I would recommend it to those who love YA romance and mermaid books.
